How ENGAGƎ People & Culture handles personal data on this website and inside ENGAGƎ ONE.

Last updated

Draft. This page is being finalized with counsel and will be updated before launch.

Who we are

ENGAGƎ People & Culture is an HR consulting firm operating in Egypt, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. We publish this website and we provide ENGAGƎ ONE, the HR platform referred to below as the service.

For visitors to this website, we decide why and how personal data is used, so we are the controller. For employee data held inside a customer's workspace, the customer decides that, and we act as their processor under a separate agreement.

What we collect

We keep the collection narrow. In practice it comes down to three things:

  • What you send us — your name, work email, company, headcount band and anything you type into a demo request or an email.
  • What your account holds — the name, email and role of each person who signs in to a workspace, and a record of what they changed.
  • How the site is used — pages viewed, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser. We use this in aggregate to see what the site is doing, not to build a profile of you.

Employee records that a customer imports into their workspace are covered by our agreement with that customer, not by this policy.

Why we use it

  • To answer you, run a demo and follow up on it.
  • To provide, secure and support the service, including the audit trail that shows who changed what.
  • To understand how the website performs and improve it.
  • To send you occasional product or company updates, which you can stop at any time.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use customer workspace content to train AI models.

Where a legal basis is required, we rely on the following:

  • Contract — providing the service to a customer and the people they authorize.
  • Legitimate interests — securing the service, preventing abuse, and understanding how the website is used.
  • Consent — marketing email, and any optional analytics that require it. You can withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation — where a law we are subject to requires us to keep or disclose something.

How long we keep it

Enquiry and demo records are kept for as long as the conversation is live and for a reasonable period afterwards. Workspace data is kept for the term of the customer's agreement and deleted or returned after it ends, on the timetable set out in that agreement. Website analytics are kept in aggregate.

The specific retention periods are being confirmed and will appear here before launch.

Sharing and processors

We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it in three situations only: with service providers who process it on our instructions, with a customer's own authorized administrators for data in their workspace, and where a law or a valid legal request obliges us.

Our processors cover hosting, email delivery, product analytics and the AI models that generate drafts. The current list is available on request, and a published subprocessor list is being prepared.

International transfers

We operate across Egypt, the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and some of our processors are outside those countries. Where personal data moves across a border, we put an appropriate transfer mechanism in place before it does.

The hosting regions and the transfer mechanism for each are being confirmed with counsel.

Your rights

Depending on where you are, you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to another provider. You can also withdraw consent for marketing at any time, and complain to your local data protection authority.

If your data sits in an employer's workspace, send the request to that employer. We will help them answer it.

Security

Access inside a workspace is role-based, every change is attributed to a person, and administrative access on our side is limited to the people who need it to run and support the service.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy we update the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects you, we will say so directly rather than relying on you to notice.
